1.      1. Use the terms ‘constituency’ and ‘represent’ to explain who an MLA is and how is the person elected?
Ans; An ML A (Member of the Legislative Assembly) is the person affiliated to a political party or as an independent who represents a constituency (an area). Voters of any specific area vote for the candidate of their choice. The person who gets the maximum number of votes is declared elected. This is the process by which an MLA is elected.

     2.   How did some MLAs become Ministers? Explain.
Ans; after the elections, the MLAs belonging to the ruling party elect their leader. It is the Governor of the state who appoints the chief minister and other ministers.   .
       3. Why should decisions taken by the Chief Minister and other ministers be debated in the Legislative Assembly?
Ans; a) because it is not necessary that the decisions taken by the chief minister and other ministers are beneficial to one and all.
b) All the MLAs should know about such decisions.
c) Adversely affecting points could be deleted after debate.
d) The final decisions so taken would be the decisions of all the members and hence of the people
4.  What is the difference between the work that MLAs do in the Assembly and the work done by                   government departments?
             Ans; the main differences are as follows;
          a). MLAs raise the important issues in the assembly and try to solve the problems being faced by the masses. In the process they also make some decisions.
          b). The job of the Government departments is to implement the decisions taken by the Assembly.
